About Crotis

Crotis plays Blackened MeloDeath, a unique blend of melodic, atmospheric, and sometimes blackened Death Metal and Metalcore. Influences range from Scandinavian melodic death metal to modern metalcore, creating a sound we call Black MeloDeath.

We all work full-time jobs and music is sadly forced to be a hobby for us, so we cannot work every day on our songs. But we still meet on a weekly basis and try our best to produce tracks that we would listen to ourselves. It can take a while until new stuff is released, but we will keep going.

Crotis is a made-up word that came to mind when we brainstormed for a unique band name. It combines Crow and Mortis in the thought of Morrigan, the Celtic war goddess who comes in the form of a big crow to collect souls.
